Gratitude Journal

With the beginning of the new year, I decided to do something I had never done before…keep a journal.  Not just regular journal but a gratitude journal.  In it I would write ten things a day that I was grateful for.  It has only been nine days but the results thus far have been so powerful I wanted to share!

You see, it is easy to think of one thing your grateful for a day…maybe even five.

But TEN! Ten is a lot.  

Which means you have to think about it…all…day…long.

The good times, the bad times, the sad times.

The moment I began to start thinking of what I was grateful for in the bad/sad times was when I realized that this little ol’gratitude journal was becoming a powerful source of happiness.

So, I HIGHLY encourage you to begin a gratitude journal, todayRIGHT NOW!  Pick a number (like ten) and commit to writing down ten things you are grateful for every day.  I’ve found that keeping the journal with you throughout the day is the best, so the moment one enters your sweet little mind, you can jot it down and be on your merry way.  

At the end of the day, go over your list and get down to the nitty gritty descriptive writing.  Why did those particular things make you grateful?

If you don’t hit your number a few days, no worries, recommit the next day.
