Geesh, what “S” word did you think I was talking about?

Today is the last day of the be SOULful 5 Day Detox Summer Edition and I am SO proud of all the lovely ladies who dedicated 5 blissful days to themselves. On the first day of the detox I had them do a journal exercise that I wanted to share with you all because I think it is so powerful.

What do you want?

It’s much easier to ask the question than to answer it.

Why is it SO hard for us to get clear about our goals? Because of our inner-critic. That darn thing! For today, I want you to imagine you had no inner-critic.

For this exercise, imagine you had nothing holding you back, no excuses. You don’t have any self-doubt, money, fear, health, family issues, it’s only rainbows and sunshine, got it?!

Take out your journal and draw a circle smack dab in the center. A pretty big circle. In the center of the circle write “I Want” outside the circle write “I Don’t Want”.

Using the laws of attraction we are going to attract the things we want in our life and let go of the things we don’t want. By doing this we can get clear and specific about what we want to attract.

Everything you want to attract in your life, write in the circle. Everything you do not want in your life write outside the circle.

Your inner-critic might show it’s ugly little head up with thoughts like “yeah right, no way, that will never happen”. Try your best to ignore it, send it away, flip it the bird if you must. Remember, for this exercise, you have NO inner-critic. Buh bye.

Out of your list of don’t wants, what can you get rid of today that is a don’t want in your life. You will need to make space (mentally and physically) for your wants so you need to get rid of some of the don’t wants. What will you get rid of TODAY! When we put it out to the universe it has a greater chance of becoming reality!

Once complete, close your eyes, take three deep breaths, and savor it. All those things you put in your circle, you can now begin to attract into your life. Honor them and know that they are attainable and you will make them happen. Welcome them into your life with big open arms. There may be some set backs along the way but they will only make you stronger, happier and healthier in the long run. You got this!
