Thanksgiving Morning Breakfast

If you are planning on skipping breakfast to save up for a big dinner, please don’t.  Breakfast is always important, especially if you are planning on eating a big meal later in the day.  It is such a shock to our system to go from eating nothing to stuffing it full.

Here are three semi-healthy breakfast options to make Thanksgiving morning:

Cinnamon Apple French Toast

Serving Size 4

4 Ezekiel Bread Slices

1-2 Apples, chopped

2-3 Egg Whites

Pure Organic Maple Syrup

Cinnamon

Chop up the apples and simmer over low heat with a dash of cinnamon and pure maple syrup.  This will be your syrup for the French toast, so use as much as you think you will need.  Once apples are semi-soft this is ready. While that is simmering begin to mix egg whites with some cinnamon in a bowl.  Gently toss each Ezekiel slice into the egg white/cinnamon mixture and cook on stovetop, flipping as needed.  Pour Apple Syrup onto slices and serve.

Banana Blueberry Steel Cut Oats

Serving Size 4

Steal Cut Oats

Blueberries

2 Small Bananas

Cinnamon

Pure Organic Maple Syrup

Cook Steal Cut Oats as directed on label.  Once cooked, add in desired amount of blueberries and sliced bananas.  Dash with cinnamon and add a drop or two of pure maple syrup.

Mexican Style Eggs

Serving Size One

1 Egg

¼ Sliced Avocado

1 Slice Tomato

¼ C diced Bell Peppers

Spinach

Organic Cheese of choice

Preheat oven 450 degrees. In a small oven safe ceramic bowl, layer the ingredients in this order: tomato slice, Spinach (as much or little as you want), avocado slices, bell pepper, egg (uncooked), sprinkle of light cheese.  Place in oven until egg is cooked to your desired temperature.  Feel free to add hot sauce and cilantro on top for an extra kick. Can also add any leftover meat (ham, chicken, turkey)!

Eat. Be Joyful. Love. Be Grateful.
