Summer is here and vacations are just around the corner for some! I myself am headed to vacation this Thursday and am spending the week doing my Soul Cleanse to get beach ready. But here’s the deal, just because my pre-vacation fit routine is near completion, I don’t want to stop because I feel pretty darn good. Why throw away all of your hard work? Here are my top 3 ways to stay fit on vacation:
- Look for some fun & unusual fitness activities in your vacation spot. Most vacation spots offer unique, one-of-a-kind fitness classes which you can only find in their city. Before you head to the airport, check out what your destination has to offer. Why not take advantage of them while you can! Traveling to Las Vegas? The hotel Aria offers a 60 minute indoor hike through its stunning art installations or check out Shine Alternative Fitness, founded by Cirque du Soleil performers (seriously how could I pick?!). Be adventurous and try something new, you can almost guarantee yourself an unparalleled experience.
- Hit the Streets and Sunshine. There is no better way to view a new city than outside on your feet. Speed walk through the streets of NYC, you’ll fit right in. Take a run through the sandy beaches, you won’t find a better view. Find an outdoor yoga class or rent bikes and stroll through the local neighborhoods. Ditch the car and walk to dinner. Breathe in that pure vacation air and soak in the sunshine.
- Watch your intake. You always want to feel your best while you are on vacation. Make sure you are fueling yourself with foods that energize and support you. Check out some restaurants that offer local, fresh ingredients like Greens & Proteins in Las Vegas. It’s ok to have a margarita (or two…I won’t tell anyone!) at dinner but try to find a balance that works and supports you.
