Your 15 Minutes of Fame

How would you describe fame? Hollywood

Recognition, credit, respect, acknowledgement, authority…

What if you could give yourself 15 minutes of fame every day? Sounds exciting right?

How would fame make you feel?

Chic, prominent, elegant, sophisticated, confident, noticed…

And what if I told you that you could feel fame every. single. day.

All you have to do is set aside 15 minutes. 15 soul devoting minutes to fame.

By now you are probably thing, “Ok, Brittany, get on with it. What are you talking about?”

So, I will go ahead and tell you!

We have a tendency to follow celebrities because they seem so chic and sophisticated and…well…rich. They have things that we can only dream of. Tangible things like mansions, cars, always perfect hair, and also the intangible like confidence, elegance, grace, humor.

Ask yourself these questions:

What celebrities do you love?

What qualities do you love about them (be specific)?

How do those qualities make you feel?

Can you imagine your life if you invited those qualities in? What would change? How would you act?

What specific acts emulate those qualities?

Confused?

Here is an example:

What celebrities do you love?

Audrey Hepburn, Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep

What qualities do you love about them (be specific)?

Grace, elegance, intelligence, beauty, confidence, poise, class

How do those qualities make you feel?

Peaceful, in control, independent, confident

Can you imagine your life if you invited those qualities in? What would change? How would you act?

YES! By bringing those qualities into my life, I would be more confident and graceful in all that I do. I would be less shy and less awkward. I would be stylish, elegant and poised.

What specific acts can you do to emulate those qualities?

Grace – strolling casually and lightly through places with lovely posture and confidence

Elegance/Poise/Class – Drinking tea from an adorable tea cup always makes me feel elegant. Wearing a nice dress or flattering outfit.

Beauty – Take a long, relaxing bath. Paint Nails. Face Mask.

Intelligence – Read a new book on a new subject. Read the newspaper. Be informed.

Here is your 15 minutes to fame. Once you get really specific about what fame means to you and how you can bring those qualities into your life via actual tasks and doings you will then set 15 minutes aside each day to complete a task. It might be longer or shorter than 15 minutes but give your fame the time it deserves. Today, I am focusing on grace and poise, so all day long I will be aiming for great posture, sitting tall with my shoulders down and back. Honestly, I already feel more graceful by doing a quick posture check. Tomorrow, I will focus on beauty which might include a long face mask and a mediation followed by a relaxing cup of tea.

We can add (at least) 15 minutes of fame into our lives every single day. I highly encourage it! Try it for a week and then let me know how it works for you!
